Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one victories have been earned on hard surfaces
A revitalized the Russian player claimed his first title for nearly 30 months with victory over Frenchman Moutet in the Almaty Open title decider.
The athlete, a ex- top-ranked player, has experienced a difficult year, achieving just a single victory at the Grand Slams and suffering a meltdown at the New York tournament.
Medvedev's unpredictability on the tennis tour - and struggles with his serving in especial - resulted in him exiting of the elite rankings and finally parting ways with long-term coach his previous coach.
Now collaborating with his coach and Rohan Goetzke, he has steadily improved in the past month - peaking in a tightly fought competitive win over opponent Moutet.
This marks his initial trophy since the 2023 Rome Masters and maiden on a hard surface after March of that year.
Victory also signifies Medvedev has won 21 championships at 21 distinct events.
"It's the first time I am participating in a event with my both daughters at once, so to get a trophy is particularly special," stated tennis professional Medvedev.
"This title is in tribute of my younger daughter Victoria, because the initial championship I won when my child my daughter was born was for her."
Medvedev, the past champion, had failed in his previous six title deciders, featuring in that event in the past months.
Medvedev's defensive approach and recurring emotional displays on the playing surface had led observers to question if his ability to perform at the top level was concluded.
Yet the 29-year-old has made changes in the last few weeks, striving to advance forward and play assertively, supported by an enhanced serving game.
Medvedev fought back from a deficit in the initial set against the difficult Frenchman, taking 4 of the concluding five exchanges to go ahead.
The competitors traded service breaks in the second set before Moutet, attempting for his maiden ATP Tour victory, seized the initiative to create a decider.
Moutet defended four early-game opportunities in a close third set before the champion secured a break to that score to serve for the match.
Fittingly, the winner clinched the title with a shot at the net, with the Frenchman incapable to manage a volley after over two and a half hours.
